In 2022, according to the NAEP, only 13% of eight grade students scored proficiency in U.S History.  So the issue does not lie in WHAT we are teaching, it lies in HOW we are teaching it. History asserts itself as a critical component of education. As a society, we need to stop failing our bright students with tedious textbooks and lengthy lectures.  That's where storytelling comes into the picture.
